Great way to memorize words and some forms
Great way to memorize words and some forms
I love this App!!!
The lessons are very streamlined and structured in a great way to fully understand the nuances of some languages from the ground up. They did remove the ability to download lessons which i thought was a great add-on so now every now and then a lesson restarts because of poor connection i wish they brought that back, 5 stars nonetheless!
It’s ok but my lessons keep freezing idk why and it pmo
Я на начальном этапе) по сути-изучается новый язык испанский на платформе английского,- то есть прокачиваются оба языка. Подача интересная и не напрягающая излишне. Спасибо!
Memrise is the best language learning app I’ve used. I’m learning Korean and it’s very helpful. My only complaint is that, after a certain point, it gets very hard to choose scenarios, as they’re called. They’re so specific that I can’t really tell which one I should do. Could you add an optional feature to mix some scenarios together based on your level while also keeping the option to choose a specific one? Thanks.
Memrise has an amazing and unique way of teaching that makes it fun and engaging. The fundamentals are taught in a way that ensures full comprehension. The incorporation of native speakers allows the learner to learn native pronunciations. I definitely recommend utilizing this app as a way to learn your new language!
Spelling Icelandic can be challenging for an English speaker. That ‘hint’ button has helped me slowly learn how to spell these words. Also super helpful to have multiple voices pronouncing words. This Memrise app is not boring. I’m supplementing it with an audiobook on Icelandic by Pimsleur.
The app is fantastic but I’ve notice some of the videos don’t load and I can’t watch them.
I have really been enjoying learning a new language on this app. My favorite feature is the one where it marks words as difficult so you can practice them later. I also love the “my words” feature, however, I give it 4 starts because when I go to play the audio for the words, it doesn’t work often. I’ll click the button to play to sound, but it will glitch and freeze. It only works sometimes, but most of the time it doesn’t. Other than that one small thing, I still think this is such a wonderful app to add in your tool belt to learn a new language!
This is so easy for me to learn a new language and you shouldn’t get Duolingo because it doesn’t help it just quizzes you
It gives you everything that you need to learn a language effectively and it lets you review everything that you have learned without lives like Duolingo. My only problem is that sometimes when I try to learn or review, the app crashes and I can’t do anything. It only works if I shut down my device and turn it back on again. Please fix
Sometimes when I go on or when I’m in a lesson it glitches and interrupts my learning progress. Other than bug fixes, this is an amazing learning app for people who want to learn specific things.
I’ve been a pro member for a while, yet it’s prompting me to go pro and won’t enable the features. When I click on the yearly subscription option it even acknowledges that I’m already subscribed. What is this nonsense???
App requires you to create an account, but rejects everything you enter as username and password with “your password must be at least 6 characters.” So the app is unusable.
Have been learning Japanese for almost a year. Vocabulary has always been difficult, however this app makes it easy. I also like the added personality by adding native speakers, as well as watching videos to learn and test out learning new vocabulary.
App will force you to link facebook, google, etc. in order to work so. Try to make your own account and something will prevent it (like your 14 digit long passcode has to be “at least 6 characters “)
Bad part I kept putting the right answer and it kept saying wrong I even put the(!) mark 😡😢good part I learned German ☺️
The videos are good. But the app does not let you start as an intermediate learner. I selected the highest possible starting level, and the app wants to teach me the word "deutsch". 😐
More than half the time when I open the app it is completely unresponsive. Can’t interact with it at all. Then when it does work I can’t review any of the words or phrases in “My words”. The audio doesn’t play for any of them.
Es muy importante
There’s been some issues lately with the app. I’ve tried to redownload it. See if there were any updates because I am having trouble with the app. For example, when I go to a new grammar point that has audio recording for example, it doesn’t work and says ‘you are not connected to the app’ when I am fully present within it and I am connected to WiFi so there shouldn’t be any reason for the app to be bugged like it is. I’m on level 16 of learning Japanese and I went to continue learning but it’s a pain when I can’t get the full experience I paid for :-( I’m currently a lifetime subscribed member. I would greatly appreciate it if this issue could be fixed asap so I can continue my learning journey with the confidence knowing that I won’t have to keep dealing with these small but crucial issues. I’d also like to add that I’ve been a member since 2023 using this app. Since its overhaul it’s much easier to use, however I don’t recommend this application if you aren’t already familiar with basics… this app expects you to know some prior knowledge in the language you’re learning. I’m using a handful of other ways to learn Japanese currently and one of the things I found is if you combine methodologies that you’re using and then add this app in the mix (work at your own pace) then you should be fine. Learning a language isn’t something you can do in one go, and I urge anyone who is learning Japanese to use this app. Like any product, Memrise takes time to work out the kinks based on the feedback you give. Also, I still hope that someone will reach out with an explanation of why these glitches are happening in the app. Thank you!
I am tremendously pleased with the grounded effectiveness of your language App. I find it far better, more intuitive, overall a pleasurably productive learning experience than the other Apps I’ve experienced. Your combination of video clips of natural speakers with your mix of learning exercises methodology I find a comfortable blend for effective learning. Thank you for an efficient program Kindest regards, Marty
It would be great if you only spoke language with your thumbs. In the pronunciation section, it only tells you it’s wrong, but not what’s wrong. Not at all helpful
doesn’t allow to choose your base language, very expensive, with discount still $170, seems very unnatural
Excellent app for beginners. Pretty exciting learning different languages.
Why will Duolingo teach you Klingon but not Somali? this is much better will be switching my duo subscription to Memrise
It only took a couple days of basic lessons before they started holding stuff behind a paywall. I get you need to make money but DuoLingo lets me do way more lessons, I just have to deal with ads.
Where did the community decks go?
Amazing way to begin learning a language
The yearly and monthly subscription have a price difference of maybe 10 dollars or so. Why am I paying 60 dollars for a single month when for 12 months it is like 70 dollars? It just doesnt make sense at all
Love all the features of the app except the AI conversations. Since it’s still in beta, I’d prefer to be able to turn off the constant prompts to use it. It throws me into conversations I haven’t learned the words for often makes mistakes where it gives feedback on an entirely different sentence.
Great for seeing/hearing a language. Terrible for trying to force you to spell it! I’m at a point in the app now where all it does is try to get me to spell words, probably because I’ve misspelled them in the past. You normally speak a language for years before you learn how to spell. If I wanted to take a spelling class this would be the app. If u want to learn a language this one starts great but devolves horribly.
This app is wonderful for intermediate learners, like students in Chinese 2/3. You’ll learn many more casual phrases and practice pronunciation. The videos taken of actors saying the lines are incredibly helpful and just beautiful to look at.
After watching the video, an error appears "Something went wrong, try watching again" and the video lesson is not counted. I tried 10 times in a row, the video plays to the end and this error pops up. Overall, I liked the app minus a star for this impassable error and another minus star for too frequent offers to buy a subscription
I’m 13 and I’m using this app my one problem is the thing in Spanish where it says “do you have any condoms” and I feel like that’s a really bad thing to ask when the age rating is 12 up
Membot is great I get to actually use my sentence making skills and the words I know and it corrects what l don't know like words I don’t know in Spanish and what I’m using wrong so I can learn and I do like roleplay so it's interesting seeing [] but i don't know how to create sentences for rp and writing rn so vocabulary and stuff for it I think I need to figure out
I purchased the lifetime pro membership and have recently been using it almost every day. It’s a great language learning app and I like the AI buddies. The problem is the app has a bunch of functionality issues. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling to no avail. I have an iPhone 13 Pro, and I’m constantly dealing with frozen screens, videos not playing, and lessons just not functioning. It’s great when it works, but maybe save your money for an app that functions as intended
There’s no way to test ahead, so if you already have some experience with the language, it’s useless. Basically totally pointless unless you’re a complete beginner
I have been using its Japanese learning package. It was interesting and useful, for example, to learn Kana and simple phrases and sentences. However, all of a sudden, it starts to show Kanji and long sentences without introducing basic grammar. From that point, one simply has to memorize all mechanically.
This app is very good, but it moves too fast. Of course I always jump the gun and payed for a lifetime subscription. I started as an absolute beginner with no knowledge of Russian. By the time you get to level five of absolute beginner they are throwing sentences and conversations at you and expecting you to remember how to spell it and everything. Others may like that fast pace but for me it makes me want to stop using the app. It’s like taking a first grade child and placing them in the 8th grade overnight.
I am learning portuguese and you have no idea how useful the videos with the people are. AMAZING STUFF, the best language app I’ve ever seen
I downloaded the app because it’s the only language app that has European Portuguese. Unfortunately, it is terrible. The people they have on here talk way too fast to catch the words. They don’t introduce words before they start incorporating them into sentences. The videos are ridiculous. Duolingo is a much more user friendly app and has more interaction with the learner. It even has a slow-mo button so you can catch the words in a sentence better. I end up not using Memrise because it’s so frustrating and discouraging. Only positive is that it offers the European Portuguese.
Hearing different spokespersons with different accents is helping real life situations with language. Not just a computer voice. Very enjoyable.
I tried learning French for over a year. What a waste of my time. This is not the best way to learn a language. I learned more with 2 chapters of “learn French with Paul Noble” than a whole year of Memrise.
I like the app, its pretty simple and I love learning Portugal Portuguese, I definitely recommend.
I decided to start learning Spanish. I tried Duolingo, but I hated that if I made too many mistakes I couldn't practice anymore, and that I learned random things before important things. I looked for alternatives, and now, after one day of having this app, I can already have a basic conversation with my fluent friends
This was the easiest and most fun app ever and its educational
I just started learning and was pleased with the method until I got the section that spewed out swear words! Seriously?! Out of all the words and phrases that could be taught for useful communication when traveling, this app seems to think it’s important to teach offensive language. Too bad .
